Tomorrow (August 29), Federal Court Judge N. Carlton Tilley (Reagan-appointed) will hear and rule on St. Andrews Presbyterian College’s (SAPC) request for a preliminary injunction that will allow the school to retain its accreditation while pursuing legal action against the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

In 2002, Judge Tilley refused to grant a temporary restraining order that would have kept UNC-CH’s incoming freshmen from a required reading about the Qu’ran. Tilley has also presided over or participated in several moderate-profile cases including Food Lion v Capital Cities/ABC, Inc; Mercer v Duke University and Goldsmith; Jennings v Dorrance and UNC-CH; and Armstrong v. Duke University.

Judge Tilley will hear SAPC tomorrow, August 29th, at 2:00pm in Greensboro NC.
